Hyderabad: Tomato Prices Soar Close to Rs 100 per Kg in Telangana

Tomato prices have skyrocketed, with the cost per kilogram nearing Rs 100, a significant rise from Rs 20 to 30 just a month and a half ago. Currently, prices range from Rs 60 to 80 per kg at Rythu Bazars and wholesale shops, while retail markets are approaching Rs 100. Vegetable vendors attribute this price surge to a supply shortage caused by recent heavy rains that damaged crops. Typically, prices tend to drop during this season and rise again in the summer.
