Hyderabad metro 2nd phase: Second phase of metro in four years

The government has announced that the second phase of the Metrorail project will be undertaken partly under the PPP system with the participation of the central and state governments. 76.4 km in five corridors with an estimated cost of Rs.24,269 crore.

The government has announced that the second phase of the Metro Rail project will be undertaken partially under the PPP system with the participation of the central and state governments. 76.4 km in five corridors with an estimated cost of Rs.24,269 crore. It is known that the Council of Ministers approved the Metro Expansion Comprehensive Project Report (DPR) on Saturday. The government announced in a statement on Sunday that several decisions have been taken on this occasion. It has been said that the work will start as soon as the central government approves the DPR and it is aimed to complete the work within 4 years. With the completion of the second phase, 8 lakh people will get ease of travel. It explained that the DPR and other documents will be sent for the approval of the Central Government.

116.4 km in second phase of metro. Six corridors have been identified. Of these, 76.4 km. Preparation of DPR for five corridors has been completed. Council of Ministers approved. The remaining corridor is 40 km from Shamshabad Airport to Fourth City. The government said field studies for the route are ongoing.

Loan from JICA and ADB.

The state government will bear 30 percent of the estimated cost of the second phase of the project which has been approved at Rs 7,313 crore. About 18 percent of the cost will be borne by the Center of Rs.4,230 crore. 48 percent of Rs.11,693 crore will be collected from institutions like JICA, ADB and NDP with the sovereign guarantee given by the central government. The government has said that 4 percent of the cost of Rs.1,033 crore investment will be provided under the PPP system. Meanwhile.. with the first phase of metro rail, our city has become the 2nd in the country after Delhi. The government said that since the previous government did not take proper measures for the expansion of these roads for seven or eight years, we fell to the 9th position.
