Hyderabad: Hyderabad is emerging as an ideal destination for the semiconductor manufacturing and allied industries, said Telangana’s IT and Industries Minister, Duddilla Sridhar Babu. During a high-level meeting on Monday with representatives from the PTW Group’s Asia division, the Minister outlined the city’s strategic advantages and extended government support to facilitate the establishment of semiconductor operations.
The PTW Group, headquartered in Singapore, specializes in semiconductor tools, components, refurbishment, automation, and equipment supply. Sridhar Babu assured the delegation of robust policy support, including incentives and subsidies, to bolster their entry into Hyderabad’s industrial ecosystem.
“Hyderabad has a highly skilled talent pool that is crucial for semiconductor manufacturing. There is no dearth of expertise in this city,” the Minister stated, inviting the PTW Group to present detailed proposals. PTW Asia’s Managing Director, Torsten Seifried, shared the company’s ambitious plans to invest Rs1,000 crore in the first phase of establishing a production facility. This investment is expected to strengthen India’s semiconductor manufacturing capabilities.
