Hyderabad Authorities Take Down Santosh Dhaba Signboards as Per High Court Directive

Hyderabad authorities have taken down the signs of several unauthorized eateries that operate under the brand name Santosh Dhaba in compliance with High Court order. The ruling follows an application for legal relief submitted by Sunil the owner of Santosh Dhaba who expressed concern regarding the illegal use of the name by various establishments throughout the city.

At present, over 200 hotel establishments in Hyderabad are operated in Hyderabad under Hyderabad's Santosh Dhaba name, leading to legal battles regarding trademark dispute. In response to the directions of the High Court authorities launched the crackdown by removing signs from outlets that were not authorized. More legal proceedings are likely when the case is pending before the courts.

In a recent court order the 17th of February, 2025 the XI Additional Chief Judge Miss Danie Ruth ordered the seizure of non-authorized materials from the Hitex Santosh family Dhaba in Gachibowli and controlled by Dhiraj Solanki. In the following days, on April 6, 2025 authorities acted on the order, taking away signboards, hoardings and lettersheads, as well as other material that violate trademark Santosh Dhaba trademark.
