hyderabad: GMR Aero Technic has announced a partnership with Lufthansa Technik under which engine core wash services will be provided at the Kempegowda International Airport in Bangalore.

GMR Aero Technic will conduct engine core wash services using technology developed by Lufthansa. These services will be provided at the beginning Q4 of 2024 (October-December period).

In addition to core wash services, GMR Aero Technic will also launch commercial aircraft engine washing services in India in fourth quarter of 2024, the company said in a press release. This will allow customers to have all common engine types for both narrow and wide-body aircraft cleansed using the efficient technique developed by Lufthansa Technik, the release added.

According to the company, such services will redefine the standards of engine core wash services in India, emphasizing sustainability, operational excellence, and cost efficiency.

On the collaboration, Feliks Wandt, Head of Engine Life Cycles Services at Lufthansa Technik said, “We are pleased to have partnered with GMR Aero Technic, allowing us to expand our global network and soon offer our revolutionary engine washing technology, Cyclean, in India. This is also great news for airlines operating at the international airport in Bangalore, as they will be able to wash their engines quickly and most efficiently using our system.”

With the growing demand for the use of innovative technology in engine washing services in the Indian market, the partnership aims to expand the supply of Cyclean services to additional Indian airports in the coming years.

Notably, Lufthansa Technik has expanded the availability of its Cyclean Engine Wash system throughout Asia Pacific. Cyclean Engine Wash is already offered in over 60 places worldwide, the release said.
