GLIDA opens EV charging hub with 102 charging points

Hyderabad: GLIDA, a public EV Charge Point Operator (formerly, Fortum Charge and Drive India) opened its largest electric vehicle charging hub in Hyderabad with 102 charging points. The hub has one 200KW Ultrafast charger with six satellite dispensers, 28 of 60KW CCS2 dual gun DC chargers, eight of 30KW CCS2 dual gun DC chargers, 20 of type-2 7.4KW AC chargers and two DC001 dual gun chargers.
EV Charging Hub located in Shamshabad near Hyderabad Airport was inaugurated by Jayesh Ranjan, Special Chief Secretary for Industries and Commerce, Government of Telangana, in the presence of various government officials, EV users, and GLIDA officials. Jayesh Ranjan said, “We believe that a charging hub of this size will instill a new wave of confidence among users, motivating them to adopt electric vehicles. Electric vehicles can address various challenges unique to our rapidly growing country and ultimately lead to more sustainable living by improving air quality. I am pleased to recognise the efforts and accomplishments of GLIDA in promoting electric vehicles.
GLIDA’s initiatives in discovering opportunities and building future-centric infrastructure demonstrate their foresight in meeting the needs of the coming times.” Commenting on the hub, Awadhesh K Jha, Executive Director, GLIDA, said, “Hyderabad has always been a city of firsts for us; it was here that we inaugurated our first fast public EV charging station in partnership with IOCL on July 7, 2018.”
