Experts Stress On Fire Safety Alertness At FTCCI Meet
As Telangana recorded over 7,600 fire incidents, Hyderabad accounted for 2,500 cases in 2024

Hyderabad: The Infrastructure, Real Estate and Smart Cities Committee of FTCCI (The Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry) organised a programme on ‘Electrical and Fire Safety for Industries and Residential Buildings,’ in Hyderabad.
The programme covered essential knowledge and tools needed to ensure electrical and fire safety in all premises. The experts provided the latest trends, best practices, regulatory updates, compliance requirements, demonstration of fire preventive techniques, insights on minimising risks and emergency preparedness.
In his opening remark, Abhishek Tibrewala, Chairman, Infrastructure, Real Estate and Smart Cities Committee, FTCCI, informed that the State recorded over 7,600 fire incidents, with Hyderabad alone accounting for 2,500 cases in 2024. The capital city has witnessed over 50 incidents of fire mishaps from January 1 to February 10, 2025, and about two or three fire accidents daily. Citing published data, Tibrewala said that these occurrences range from minor kitchen fires in homes to massive commercial and industrial disasters.
Setting the tone of the programme, Suresh Kumar Singhal, President, FTCCI, said that while regulatory bodies and organisations provide guidelines and policies, it is up to business owners, facility managers, engineers, architects, and residents to ensure that these measures are implemented effectively.
Chief guest Y Nagi Reddy, Director General, Telangana Fire Disaster Response Emergency, explained about fire compliances and preparedness of Telangana Fire Disaster Response Emergency Department. V Srinivas, CEO, Synergy Infra Consultants Pvt Ltd, and C Lakshmi Prasad, Director (retired), Telangana Fire Services, spoke on fire disaster management in Industries.
At the end of the speakers session, B Sunil Chandra Reddy, Co-Chair, FTCCI committee, moderated a question and answer session, and concluded the event with a vote of thanks.
