Delegation From Japan Explores Investment Potential In Sri City
Impressed by Sri City's growth and Japanese presence, the delegation expressed optimism for future investments

Hyderabad: A 15-member delegation from Toyama, Japan, led by Hidenori Mugino, Chairman of the Toyama Association of Corporate Executives, visited Sri City. The delegation evaluated business opportunities and explored potential investments in the region.
R Shivasankar, Senior Vice President - Marketing, Sri City, delivered a presentation highlighting Sri City’s advantages as a premier industrial hub. He emphasised its strategic location, sectoral diversity, and social infrastructure. Shivasankar explained the benefits of setting up a manufacturing unit within the integrated business city. He highlighted that Sri City has emerged as the second-largest destination for Japanese investments in India, hosting over 30 Japanese companies from various industries, an official Sri City press release mentioned.
Hidenori Mugino commended Sri City for its infrastructure and business-friendly environment. He expressed his admiration for the scale and efficiency of the industrial park and conveyed optimism about the growth of Japanese businesses in the region in the near future, according to the release.
Dr Ravindra Sannareddy, Founder Managing Director of Sri City, in a message expressed appreciation for the delegation’s visit, highlighting the shared synergies between Toyama and Andhra Pradesh. He remarked that Toyama and Andhra Pradesh share striking similarities in leveraging their coastal geographies, agricultural strengths, and industrial growth while prioritising sustainability through renewable energy initiatives. He noted that such engagements bolster bilateral trade and economic ties.
During the briefing, the delegation expressed interest in the Japanese enclave at Sri City and held discussions on different facets of the industrial zone. They explored the industrial areas, observing the state-of-the-art infrastructure and the activities underway.
The delegation visited Sri City with the intent of exploring business potential and investment opportunities. It included 11 senior executives from various sectors, four officials from the Toyama Prefecture Government, and a representative from the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO).
