The Telangana High Court has allowed the demolition of the Janwada Farmhouse, which K.T. Rama Rao is leasing.
The court rejected a request to stop the demolition, saying that the farmhouse was built illegally since it was approved by a village leader who didn’t have the right authority.
The government says the farmhouse might be on land that should be protected or is otherwise illegal.
They can either let HYDRAA handle the demolition or have local authorities do it.
There’s controversy over the case, with some accusing the owner of misleading authorities about nearby reservoirs to avoid stricter rules.
Critics also argue that Rama Rao, as a minister, should be fighting illegal constructions, not benefiting from them.
There are also questions about whether HYDRAA itself was set up legally, but the court hasn’t ruled on that. This situation could benefit Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and the Congress party.
