Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka said the People’s Government has brought comprehensive Green Power Policy to provide cheaper and pollution free energy in Telangana State. The Green Power policy introduced by the State Government attracted several investors who came forward to invest Rs 80,000 crore to Rs1 lakh crore in this sector and some companies already entered into MoUs , he said.

Though several changes had taken place throughout the world in the energy sector, no policy was formulated in this sector in the last 10 years, Bhatti explained.

The Deputy Chief Minister said the State government is going ahead with the objective of generating 20,000 MW of green power by 2030 and 40,000 MW by 2040.

Answering to questions raised on Green Energy policy in the Legislative Council on Monday by MLCs Balmuru Venkat, Mahesh Kumar Goud, Kalwakuntla Kavitha and Bhanu Prasad, the Deputy Chief Minister said that plans have been formulated to generate green power through solar, wind , green hydrogen and other categories. "The government is giving approvals through single window system to encourage investments in the green energy besides reimbursing stamp duty and facilitating liberalised NALA conversion," he said.
