The Yadagirigutta Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple is set to host its annual Brahmotsavams, commencing on March 1. Authorities have finalized preparations for the religious event, which will feature several special rituals and ceremonies.

The Brahmotsavams will span multiple days, with Mahakrathu scheduled from March 1 to 23. Rituals will be conducted by 108 Rutwiks, and sacred water will be sourced from various holy rivers across the country. Five homagundas have been installed on the hilltop, with an additional four near the temple’s large pond.

Each day, Sri Sudarshana Narasimha and Sri Lakshmi Havan Homas will be performed. On March 23, the Vimana Rajagopuram will be anointed using 25 Kalashas. Sudarshana Homam and Narasimha Homam will take place from March 19 to 22. As part of the concluding ceremonies, nearly one lakh devotees will receive Pulihora Prasadam. The event will be organized under the guidance of Vanamamalai Ramanuja Jeeyar Swamy.

The temple’s Vimana Gopuram has been adorned with 65.84 kg of gold, procured through multiple sources. Of this, 10.5 kg was received through donations, 3.12 kg from the temple’s gold bond withdrawal, 12.701 kg from hundi offerings, and 8.672 kg by converting silver into gold. The remaining 30.51 kg was acquired externally. Covering a total area of 10,753 square feet, approximately 6 grams of gold was used per square foot.

Officials confirmed that the Pancha Tala Gopuram, standing at 50.5 feet, is the largest of its kind in India. It consists of five tiers, with 40 idols—eight on each level—installed within the structure. In addition to the main tower, 38 Kalashas within the temple premises have also been gold-plated. To facilitate a broader audience, large LCD screens have been placed along four Mada streets, enabling devotees to witness the Mahakumbh Samprokshan program live.

The Yadagirigutta temple holds deep historical and spiritual significance. According to legends, Hada Rishi, the son of Rushyasringu and grandson of Vibhandaka Rishi, was a devoted follower of Lord Narasimha. Seeking a divine vision, he undertook rigorous penance. Pleased with his devotion, the Lord appeared before him and granted his wish to remain at this sacred location. Another belief attributes the name Yadagiri to a sage named Yadava, who also meditated at this site.

With extensive preparations in place, the upcoming Brahmotsavams at Yadagirigutta Temple are set to attract thousands of devotees.
