Hyderabad: Bajaj Consumer Care Ltd, a consumer care product provider, announced the acquisition of Hyderabad-based Vishal Personal Care, the owners of Banjara’s, a hair and skin care brand. With this strategic move, Bajaj Consumer Care (BCCL) is expanding its footprint across Indian markets based on the growing demand for natural and Ayurvedic personal care products.
Under the terms of the agreement, Bajaj Consumer Care will acquire a 100 per cent stake in the company in a two-phase transaction, starting with an initial 49 per cent stake, followed by the remaining 51 per cent in the second tranche. The estimated transaction value stands at Rs 120 crore, with an enterprise value of about Rs 108.3 crore, an official press release mentioned.
On the acquisition, Jaideep Nandi, Managing Director, Bajaj Consumer Care Ltd, said: “Acquisition of Vishal Personal Care Pvt Ltd is a strategic step in strengthening Bajaj Consumer Care's footprint in the five southern markets. The addition of Banjara’s to our portfolio enhances our ability to serve the evolving consumers across India, while also complementing our product range for further expansion."
Vishal Personal Care Pvt Ltd has a product portfolio that includes facial kits, herbal powders, aloe vera gels, shampoos, and hair care powders. These products sold with the brand name Banjara’s are sold in over 70,000 outlets across the five South Indian markets through cosmetics stores, supermarkets, pharmacies, and grocery chains. Banjara’s has registered a four-year CAGR of 14 per cent and an annual revenue exceeding Rs 50 crore, according to the release.
