Hyderabad: The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (Assocham) on Wednesday held a Conference on Security, Data Protection and AI, called as ‘Innovation Nexus,’ in Hyderabad.
Organised in collaboration with IT, E&C Department, Government of Telangana; MATH, T-Hub’s Centre of Excellence (CoE); Data Security Council of India (DSCI), and ISACA, the Summit served as a platform to explore trends in artificial intelligence (AI), particularly generative AI models, their applications, and how technological advancements are reshaping industries.
During the day, the topics for discussion included the impact of AI across key industries, including healthcare, finance, and education, addressing critical security challenges, ethical considerations, and regulatory frameworks for responsible adoption of AI.
Delivering the inaugural address, Dr Jayesh Ranjan, Special Chief Secretary - IT, Government of Telangana, underscored the importance of balancing technological innovation with robust security measures, privacy protocols, and ethical AI deployment. He emphasised that as technology evolves, there is a need to continuously reassess security strategies and data protection policies while harnessing AI’s potential to enhance businesses, governance, and everyday life.
G Narendra Nath, ITS, Joint Secretary, National Security Council Secretariat, Government of India, provided key insights into national security and cybersecurity, offering a strategic perspective on securing India’s digital ecosystem.
Chandra Sekhar Sarma Garimella, President, ISACA Hyderabad Chapter, shared his expertise on compliance, security, and cloud infrastructure, emphasising on their growing significance in today’s rapidly evolving technology landscape.
Delivering the vote of thanks, Dinesh Babu Macha, State Head – Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Assocham, highlighted the need for continued collaboration on cybersecurity, data privacy, and the ethical deployment of AI to ensure a secure digital future.
