50-yr Celebrations Of Chittaramma Jathara On Jan 19
Hyderabad: Chittaramma Temple in Gajularamaram near Quthbullapur in Medchal-Malkajgiri district is organising golden jubilee (50 years) celebrations of its popular jathara (devotional festival) on January 19. Besides, nine-day long brahmostavams of the temple’s presiding deity Chittaramma, are being organised from Friday (January 17).
Elaborate arrangements are being made for the mega spiritual events which are expected to attract 6 lakh devotees during the nine-day period. Gold jubilee celebrations alone are expected to attract 2 lakh devotees on Sunday. Brahmostavams will kick off with Ganapathi pooja on Friday. To mark the occasion, the temple committee lined up a series of poojas, a precession, several culture events and annadanam for 80,000 people. “We have made all the arrangements for the jathara which is very popular spiritual festival as it attracts devotees from far and wide. Our main aim is to see that inconvenience is not caused to devotees in anyway,” said Kuna Ananthaiah Goud, Chairman, Temple Committee.
