Indian pacer Varun Aaron has announced his retirement from international cricket. The 35-year-old Aaron took to social media on Friday (January 10) to make the announcement. "I am happy to have played cricket for the last 20 years. This journey would not have been possible without God, my family, friends, teammates, coaches, support staff, and fans. I am grateful to everyone who has supported me throughout my cricketing journey," Varun Aaron wrote on Instagram.

In 2011, Aaron performed brilliantly in the IPL and earned a place in the Indian ODI team for the first time, playing against England.

He made his Test debut against the West Indies in November of the same year. He attracted attention for his ability to bowl at speeds of 150 kilometers per hour.

Over the course of his career, Aaron played only 9 Tests and 9 ODIs for India. He took 18 wickets in Tests and 11 wickets in ODIs. However, after some inconsistent performances, he lost his place in the Indian team.

He last played an international match for India in 2015. After failing to perform well in a Test match held in Bangalore, Aaron was dropped from the team. In the years that followed, he continued to play domestic cricket alongside his IPL commitments. The pacer has featured in 52 IPL matches and taken 44 wickets.
