Steven Smith has scored 10 centuries in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, the most by any batter, surpassing both Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli. Smith has also accumulated 11 Test centuries against India, the most by any player, overtaking Joe Root's previous record of ten centuries against India. It took Smith 201 innings to score his 34th Test century, with only Sachin Tendulkar (192 innings) and Ricky Ponting (193 innings) achieving this feat faster among the 11 players with 34 Test centuries.

Jasprit Bumrah conceded 99 runs in Australia’s first innings, marking his highest-ever runs conceded in a Test innings. Additionally, Bumrah has bowled 84 innings without conceding 100 or more runs, the most by any bowler, surpassing former England fast bowler Mike Hendrick, who took 54 innings to achieve this.

Rohit Sharma's batting average in Tests during the 2024-25 season is 11.07, the second-lowest for any Indian batter with at least ten innings in the top six. The lowest is 10.00 by Chandu Sarwate in 1947-48.

In the 2024-25 season, India has recorded two 100-plus partnerships in their first innings across nine Tests. Ravindra Jadeja and R Ashwin shared a 199-run stand against Bangladesh in Chennai, while Yashasvi Jaiswal added 102 with Virat Kohli in Melbourne.

Jasprit Bumrah has also taken four-wicket hauls in Australia's first innings in four Tests this series, a feat not seen since Shane Warne achieved it during the 2005 Ashes. Additionally, India last conceded multiple 400-plus totals in a Test series in 2016, when England scored three 400-plus totals in the five-match series in India.
