SRH vs RR LIVE: Ishan Kishan’s blazing century powers SRH to mammoth total, Royals struggle

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) delivered a batting masterclass in their IPL 2025 clash against Rajasthan Royals (RR), setting the second-highest total in the tournament's history. Debutant Ishan Kishan stole the show with a breathtaking 45-ball century, guiding SRH to a colossal 286/6 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

Rajasthan Royals' stand-in skipper Riyan Parag won the toss and opted to bowl first, a decision that quickly backfired. Travis Head set the tone early with a blistering 67 off 31 balls, while Kishan unleashed an explosive knock, remaining unbeaten on 106 off 47 deliveries. Together, the duo smashed 20 fours and nine sixes, dismantling the Royals’ bowling attack. Despite a strong position to surpass their own record total of 287/3, SRH lost two wickets in the final over, just falling short of making history.

In response, Rajasthan Royals struggled under the scoreboard pressure. Riyan Parag was one of the early casualties as RR lost three wickets in the powerplay. Sanju Samson, coming in as the Impact Substitute, fought hard with a resilient half-century, but his efforts were in vain. Dhruv Jurel also contributed with a fifty before both batters fell in quick succession, leaving RR staring at a massive defeat.

Among RR’s bowlers, Tushar Deshpande was the only one to emerge with respectable figures, claiming 3/44 in his four overs. However, Jofra Archer endured a forgettable outing, conceding 76 runs in his four-over spell—the worst-ever individual bowling performance in IPL history.

With this dominant performance, SRH reaffirmed their status as one of the most formidable teams in the competition, picking up from where they left off last season.
