Rohit Sharma's Retirement Plans: What the Cricketer Has Revealed

The buzz surrounding India’s clash with New Zealand in the Champions Trophy final on Sunday was heightened by speculation about whether Rohit Sharma would announce his retirement from ODIs. This came after he decided to step down from the T20 format following India’s victory in the T20 World Cup in the West Indies last year.
In a post-match interview, where Rohit had just played a crucial role in India’s victory with a solid 76, he directly addressed the rumors. He said, “Koi future plan hai nahi, jo chal raha hai chalega,” meaning "I have no future plans; whatever happens will continue." He further clarified, “I am not going to retire from this format.”
Rohit also reflected on his experience during the 2019 World Cup, saying, “I scored heavily in the 2019 World Cup, but maza nahi aaya... the team didn’t win. When the team wins, and you make a contribution, it gives satisfaction.” He mentioned that he was clear about how he wanted to bat, staying focused on that approach. India’s win in the Champions Trophy marked their third title, with Rohit’s performance playing a key role in the victory.
