Rohit Sharma Retirement: This win is in addition to the previous victories of India both in 2012 and 2002 which makes the team the only one to win the trophy three times, eclipsing the two titles won by Australia.

In pursuit of 252 to win, India got off to an explosive start, fueled by their captain's debut half-century in the tournament. KL Rahul continued to show great confidence with an unbeaten 34to lead India into the final with six balls left during the final in Dubai.

As the top-ranked ODI team, India remained unbeaten throughout the tournament's eight nations.

The moment Rohit entered the conference room for press conferences; he seemed to be anticipating the inevitable question regarding his future.

And, as one would expect and expected, the Indian captain did not hesitate to respond in his trademark manner.

Koi the future plan is nahi Jo chal raha hai, there is no future plan what is happening now will continue, Rohit said in the press conference following the match.

"I am not going to retire from this format," he declared.

Reminiscing about his approach to the batting game, Rohit said: "I scored heavily in the 2019 World Cup but maza nahi aaya... team didn't win. When the team wins, and you make a contribution, it gives satisfaction. I am clear in my mind how I want to bat, and that is what I am trying to do."

Rohit was awarded Player of the Match for his stunning score of 76 from 83 balls.

Rohit is the third ICC medal as captain after the Indian team's ICC T20 World Cup 2024 India vs New Zealand victory, in which they edged over South Africa in a thrilling final in Barbados.
