Rafael Nadal played his final match at the Davis Cup, marking the end of his incredible tennis career.
The 22-time Grand Slam champion was defeated 6-4, 6-4 by Botic van de Zandschulp in the quarter-finals of the Davis Cup finals in Malaga, Spain.
After Nadal's loss, Spain also lost in the doubles match. Van de Zandschulp and Wesley Koolhof, who is also retiring, won 7-6 (4), 7-6 (3) against Carlos Alcaraz and Marcel Granollers.
As a result, Spain was eliminated from the tournament in their attempt to win a seventh Davis Cup title.
In other quarter-finals, Italy, led by Jannik Sinner, is facing Argentina. Italy is the defending champion and Sinner has been in great form, winning 26 of his last 27 matches.
They will play the winners of the USA vs Australia match. The Netherlands will face either Germany or Canada in the semi-finals.
