Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has Suffered a Massive Blow after ICC Asked the Host Body to Drop Plans
Just a day after the announcement of the nationwide Champion Trophy Title tour, which was made by the Pakistan Cricket Board, the International Cricket Council has canceled the tour in the cities of Hunza, Skardu, and Muzaffarabad, located in PoK or Pakistan-occupied Kashmir regions. Due to security reasons, India has declined to tour for the sake of the matches.
It is being said that as BCCI objected to the Pakistan Cricket Board plan, so ICC took such a decision.
On Thursday the PCB announced the plan for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 tour, which was earlier set to begin in Islamabad on 16th November.
The trophy tour was supposed to happen from 16th-24th November and the trophy arrived on 14th November in Islamabad. However, with the ICC calling off the trophy tour to PoK regions, now the PCB will have to chalk out a new plan. The tour will not take place in three cities, which were all set to host the Champions Trophy matches.
Well, there has been no major development ever since the Pakistan Cricket Board asked ICC to come up with a justification from the BCCI for canceling the tour. As per several reports, the possibilities of the hybrid model for the champions trophy are high where India will play its matches in Sri Lanka or UAE. But, no confirmation has been given yet from the ICC. On the other side, last week Mohsin Naqvi, the PCB chairman, also had claimed that hosting tournament in hybrid manner is not on the cards yet.
