MS Dhoni Poised to Make IPL History in 2025, Set to Become First Player Ever to...

MS Dhoni will be back on the field to the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) during the 18th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Yellow Army is scheduled to start their game with a match against Mumbai Indians (MI) on 23rd March.

Dhoni IPL records whom will play for CSK captain 2025 Ruturaj Gaikwad. He is close to making history. He will reach a major milestone during IPL 2025. Dhoni will be the first cricketer on the planet to take part in 350 ODIs, 400 T20s and 50 Test games during IPL 2025.

Former India captain ended the international season with a total of 350 ODIs as well as 90 caps for Tests. He also played the 98 T20Is. In all, he's performed 391 T20s. Dhoni is only nine T20 cap away from making the record books.

A lot of players have worn hundreds of T20 caps, but none of them have been able to play at least 350 ODIs or 50 Tests. Dhoni is set to reach this massive achievement as a member of The Yellow Army in MS Dhoni last IPL season.

Indian athletes who've played over 400 T20s

Rohit Sharma as well as Dinesh Karthik have been two Indian cricketers who played over 400 T20s. Rohit has worn four48 T20 caps and will play the 450 T20s before the start the IPL 2025 schedule. Rohit retired from T20Is following his team led India to victory at the 2024 World Cup.

Karthik has played in 412 T20s. He quit Indian cricket, but remains a professional cricketer. He was a player with Paarl Royals in SA20. Virat Kohli is playing 399 T20s thus far, and is one cap away of being the 3rd Indian with 400 T20s played.
