IPL 2025: KKR dominate as SRH struggle in 201-run chase

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are in full control against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Match 15 of IPL 2025 at Eden Gardens. Chasing a target of 201, SRH are off to a shaky start, losing three key wickets in quick succession.

KKR's Vaibhav Arora and Harshit Rana wreaked havoc early on, dismissing Travis Head (4), Abhishek Sharma (2), and Ishan Kishan (2) within the first three overs. SRH now rely on Kamindu Mendis and Nitish Kumar Reddy to rebuild, with the team needing 169 runs from 85 balls at a required run rate of 11.92.

Earlier, KKR posted an impressive 200/6 in 20 overs, thanks to explosive batting from Venkatesh Iyer (60 off 29) and Angkrish Raghuvanshi (50 off 32). Skipper Ajinkya Rahane (38) and Rinku Singh (32*) also made valuable contributions. SRH’s bowlers, including Pat Cummins, Mohammed Shami, and Harshal Patel, picked up wickets but struggled to contain the run flow.

Venkatesh Iyer, reflecting on KKR’s innings, noted that the pitch was slower than usual, making stroke play challenging. However, he expressed confidence in KKR’s bowling attack to defend the total.
