New Zealand captain Tom Latham won the toss and chose to bat first in the second Test match in Pune. By Lunch, New Zealand had scored 92 runs and lost 2 wickets.

At lunch, Opener Devon Conway was short of 3 runs to reach his half-century, as he scored 47 runs, while Rachin Ravindra scored 5 runs.

India's leading bowler, Ravichandran Ashwin, took both wickets, including dismissing Tom Latham for a duck in his first over.

Following their loss in the first Test, India made three changes to the team. They included Shubman Gill, Washington Sundar, and Akash Deep, while KL Rahul, Kuldeep Yadav, and Mohammed Siraj were left out.

The pitch in Pune is expected to favor spinners, giving Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja a good opportunity to shine.

Both teams are keen to win: India aims to recover from their previous match, while New Zealand seeks to secure a series victory in India.
