The count, currently at 51, is expected to rise as Indian athletes continue their pursuit of victory.
On Wednesday, Deepthi Jeevanji won a bronze in the women’s 400m T20 race on her Paralympics debut.
Late Tuesday night, India added four more medals in Para-Athletics, including two double-podium finishes.
Ajeet Singh secured silver in the men’s javelin throw F46 with a personal best of 65.62m, while Sundar Singh Gurjar took bronze.
Sharad Kumar earned silver in the men’s high jump T63, setting a new Paralympic Record in the T42 category.
Mariyappan Thangavelu, a 2016 Rio gold medalist, claimed bronze, marking India's second double podium in athletics at Paris 2024.
With these five medals, India climbed to 17th place in the medal tally, holding three golds, seven silvers, and ten bronze medals. Indian athletes are set to compete in six more medal events, aiming to further add to this historic tally.
