Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja set another record by taking five wickets on the first day of the third Test match against New Zealand. He became the fifth highest wicket-taker in Indian Test cricket. Moreover, this is the 14th time Jadeja has taken five wickets in a single innings.
With the latest five wickets, Jadeja has taken 314 wickets so far. In this list, he crossed Ishant Sharma (311) and Zaheer Khan (311) and jumped to the fifth position. Anil Kumble holds the record for most wickets in Indian Test cricket (619). Ravichandran Ashwin (533), Kapil Dev (434) and Harbhajan Singh (417) are in the next positions.
In the first innings of the third Test, New Zealand was bowled out for 235 runs as the spinners of Team India exploded. Nine wickets were taken by the spinners.
