Indian cricketer Mohammed Siraj has been appointed as the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in Telangana.
The announcement was made by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, who recognised Siraj's contributions to the Indian team, especially during the T20 World Cup earlier this year.
In addition to his new role, Siraj has been allocated a 600-square-yard plot of land near Road No. 78 in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad.
Siraj officially started his duties on Friday after reporting to the Director General of Police, Dr. Jitender. Images of him in his police uniform quickly went viral on social media.
He expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister for this honor.
His fans and cricket enthusiasts have been taking to social media platforms to make the announcements.
"Siraj is finally coming to arrest everyone who made his fake account," wrote a user on his X, formerly known as Twitter, account.
"Moh Siraj appointed as DSP. Beware of trolling him, he has got the power now," wrote another user.
