Gujarat Titans (GT) has announced a strategic blend of continuity and innovation for the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season.

The franchise has renewed its association with Rayzon Solar as an associate partner and forged a partnership with Pokémon as an official partner, signalling a commitment to sustainability, fan engagement, and expanding its brand reach.

Rayzon Solar, a leading Indian manufacturer of high-efficiency solar panels, will continue its successful collaboration with Gujarat Titans. This renewal underscores the dedication of the collaborators to promote sustainable practices within the sporting arena.

Notably, Rayzon Solar has also established a sponsorship agreement with another contender Chennai Super Kings (CSK), demonstrating their increasing involvement in the IPL landscape.

In a significant move that highlights the evolving landscape of sports sponsorships, the team from Gujarat has welcomed Pokémon as an official partner.

This partnership will encompass a multifaceted approach, incorporating digital content, immersive in-stadium activations, and interactive fan engagement activities. Leveraging the global popularity of Pokémon, the Titans aim to captivate a wider audience and create memorable experiences for IPL enthusiasts. Incidentally, Pokemon had partnered Mumbai Indians (MI) in the previous edition, demonstrating its growing interest in the Indian sports market.

The Titans, aiming to build on their previous successes, have also solidified their roster and other key partnerships. They have renewed associations with Acko, District by Zomato and playR, demonstrating a robust network of support.

Shubman Gill continues to lead the team, building on his established leadership role. The franchise has strategically retained key players, including the formidable Rashid Khan, the explosive Rahul Tewatia, and the talented young batsman Sai Sudharsan. To further strengthen their squad, the Titans made impactful additions during the IPL auction, securing the services of stars of the caliber of Jos Buttler, Kagiso Rabada, Gerald Coetzee, Ishant Sharma and Glenn Phillips.

Talking to Bizz Buzz, Arvinder Singh, COO, Gujarat Titans says, “I think it is only in order to acknowledge the role that you played in helping us grow over the last three years. And we understand and deeply appreciate your help in this regard, so thank you very much, firstly, for being in attendance here today. We look forward to our continued association with you all, not only through the season but through the years ahead as well”, he said.

Adding further, Singh said, “I will not stop you from being able to interact with the right people who are sitting on the stage. Even this year, we will meet up with the standards that are expected of us, not only from the IPL but from ourselves as well.”

The question arises how does the team shape up, especially considering how Gujarat Titans have performed from the beginning? Along with LSG, two new franchises were introduced, but GT garnered the most attention. Now, with the home ground advantage again and the new player selections—aside from those who have left—how will the team be structured, and what kind of role will they play in shaping the team for the new season remains to be seen.

According to Ashish Nehra, the team’s head coach, says, “No, look, this is nothing new in the IPL. And as you said, three years ago, when we started, players could be retained. This time, the option to retain players was even better than before. There isn’t a “check-up” as such; every year is a new cycle, and all players are used to it—they know that some changes are bound to happen. This is part and parcel of cricket, especially franchise cricket. We all are used to it; every three years, at least 60 per cent of the squad changes. We have a great combination—both youngsters and experienced players.”

On whether Buttler selected from a batsman's perspective or as a wicketkeeper and an overload of Indian bowlers, Gill says, “Buttler has been picked as a wicketkeeper. As for Indian fast bowlers, it is in keeping with the Indian Premier League.”
