Pakistan lost to Bangladesh at home by 10 wickets in a major Test match, earning harsh criticism for captain Shan Masood and his team.

Ramiz Raja, a former cricket player and commentator, criticized Pakistan's performance following their loss to Bangladesh in the Rawalpindi Test. He said, "This isn't the first time that on the fifth day of a Test match, Pakistan has crumbled, with their performance falling apart. Sometimes it's a batting flop show, sometimes the bowling falters at crucial moments."

Ramiz Raja went on to highlight a 2018 Test match between Pakistan and New Zealand that took place in Sharjah, Dubai. He talked about how Pakistan gave in to pressure on the fourth day, despite winning by 90 runs in the first innings with an outstanding performance. As a result, they were not able to fulfill the target of 175 runs and managed to secure only 171.

He further added that Pakistan's poor performance against India in the Asia Cup, which destroyed the confidence of Pakistani bowlers, was a contributing factor in their present loss to Bangladesh. Raja remarked, “It started from the match (in the Asia Cup) against India in seaming conditions, where our fast bowlers were thrashed. The whole world noticed that, if you attack them or show a little aggression, this bowling attack isn't as good as its reputation suggests. Because everyone’s speed has dropped, and then the skill level isn’t there."

In addition, he also made remarks about Shan Masood, the captain of Pakistan, raising concerns about his ability to make decisions as well as the declining performances of the bowlers and batsmen under his direction. He pointed out that Masood's batting performance needs to improve significantly for him to justify his position on the team.

He expressed, "He needs to work on his batting. It's not like he is a great captain, and so if he keeps getting out for ducks, he would still have his place in the side. Losing makes a huge dent in the team and the morale of the side. You cannot lose the series. Pakistan cricket is already under a lot of pressure. A series loss would mean tension in the dressing room; there will be a lot of criticism and questions raised."
