After suffering defeat at the hands of Australia in the recent Border Gavaskar Trophy, the Men in Blue came under heavy criticism. The bowling contingent failed to create an impact on the pitch, by being over-reliant on Jasprit Bumrah. The 31-year-old took 32 wickets in the series, which is seven more than second-placed Pat Cummins.

While the pace attack of Mohammed Siraj, Harshit Rana and Akash Deep failed to make inroads in the Australian conditions, Prasidh Krishna came out with flying colours as he toppled the Aussie’s batting lineup by claiming six wickets in the final game.

Here’s a list of fast bowlers who can make an impact in India's bowling lineup.

Arshdeep Singh

The Punjab pacer has established his presence in the limited-over format and continues to remain the obvious choice for the selectors. By claiming four-fers and five-wicket hauls in the domestic circuit, he has already played 21 first-class matches by taking 66 wickets.

Vasuki Koushik

The 32-year-old has proved to be Karnataka’s finest pacers with his accuracy and swing. The bowler has taken 81 first-class wickets at an outstanding average of 17.25.

Tushar Deshpande

The 29-year-old fast bowler recently made his debut for the country in the T20Is and has played for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL. Deshpande can make an impact in the bowling attack as per the requirement of the team.

Aaqib Khan

The 21-year-old has taken 44 wickets in just 28 first-class innings at an average of 28. His performance in domestic cricket earned him a spot in India A squad for the Duleep Trophy.

Khaleel Ahmed

The 27-year-old pacer made his debut for India in 2018 and has featured in 11 ODIs as well as 18 T20Is with 31 wickets to his name. Khaleel has the potential to swing the new ball and can steer the bowling attack as India looks for bowlers who can topple the top-order batsmen.
