Gautam Gambhir began his role as head coach with the Indian cricket team's tour of Sri Lanka. The Men in Blue will play three T20s and three ODIs against Sri Lanka.
The team arrived on Monday and had their first practice session in Pallekele on Tuesday.
Sony Sports Network posted a video showcasing the team's arrival and training on its official X account, featuring Gambhir in the lead.
Upon arriving at the stadium for practice, Gambhir was observed with a bag featuring the Kolkata Knight Riders logo, and fans who noticed the KKR logo on his bag are expressing their admiration for his passion for the KKR on social media.
Players like Hardik Pandya, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Riyan Parag, Washington Sundar, Khaleel Ahmed, and vice-captain Shubman Gill were also spotted, along with the new Team India coach.
The Indian team, along with the coaching staff, left for Sri Lanka on Monday and reached Pallekele on the same day after a short stop in Colombo.
Suryakumar Yadav was appointed as the new captain of Team India for T20Is in the Sri Lanka series.
