Former English cricketer Stuart Broad took a dig at Australia A batsman Marcus Harris during the ongoing second test match between Australia A and India A.

While commenting on an Instagram reel, which was shared by Cricket Australia, Broad wrote, “I’d have walked for that.”

During the 43rd over, Tanush Kotian delivered a spell that deceived the Australian batter with flight. This caused the ball to spin past his edge, which thereby landed in hands of Devdutt Padikkal who was fielding in the first slip. Following this, the Indian team appealed to the umpire for a potential dismissal but were left shattered as the Umpire ruled not out. Notably, Harris himself remained at the crease.

Speaking about the incident, Harris said, “The boys said they watched the replays 20 times and couldn’t really tell (if it was out).”

He added, “The god’s honest truth was I wasn’t sure. If they reviewed it and it showed I hit it and got caught, I would have gone, Yep, fair enough.”

Later, Kotian fumed at the decision on Instagram by calling the decision ‘horrible’

Meanwhile, Harris went on to score 74 until he was dismissed by Prasidh Krishna.

Harris faced an uphill battle against India A’s impressive bowling spell, while managing to hit only five boundaries. He is hoping to return to his Australian side after a 3-year gap. The left-handed opener could be a strong contender to partner alongside Usman Khawaja in the upcoming test series against India.
