The Hyderabad Literary Festival (HLF) 2025 is all set to be a major cultural event, bringing together a vibrant mix of writers, thinkers, and art enthusiasts for three days of engaging activities and discussions. Set to take place from January 24 to 26 at Sattva Knowledge City in Hitec City, Hyderabad, this annual festival promises to offer a platform for diverse voices and ideas from various disciplines.

The 2025 edition of HLF will feature an exciting array of topics, ranging from literature and storytelling to pressing issues like climate change, science, and the preservation of indigenous languages and cultures. Attendees can look forward to a variety of events, including Kaavya Dhaara, Youngistaan Nukkad, Nanha Nukkad, interactive workshops, exhibitions, and the popular "Meet My Book" session.

Festival director Amita Desai highlighted the festival's role in fostering a spirit of creativity and conversation. "HLF continues to serve as a vibrant platform for dialogue, showcasing diverse perspectives from various fields," Desai said.

This year's festival will feature a series of notable plenary sessions, each focused on different aspects of literature, cinema, politics, and more. Among the key speakers are:

- A Life in Cinema: Veteran actress Shabana Azmi will reflect on her illustrious career in conversation with Amita Desai during the opening plenary.

- Viewfinder: A Memoir: Actor Amol Palekar and his wife, Sandhya Gokhale, will discuss their memoirs with filmmaker Mohana Krishna Indraganti.

- Zeba: An Accidental Superhero: Actress Huma Qureshi will talk about her book with writer Kinnera Murthy.

- Love Jihad and Other Fictions: Senior journalists Sreenivasan Jain and Mariyam Alavi will examine the spread of misinformation in a session moderated by festival representatives.

- The Election that Surprised India: Journalist Rajdeep Sardesai will analyze unexpected political developments with academic Sunita Reddy.

- Just a Mercenary? Notes from My Life and Career: Former RBI Governor Duvvuri Subbarao will discuss his memoir with writer Suchitra Shenoy.

The festival will culminate in the Ajay Gandhi Memorial Valedictory Session, which will focus on the theme "Values of the Indian Constitution." Social activist Harsh Mander and historian Rajmohan Gandhi will share their perspectives on this crucial subject.
