Medtronic, a global leader in medical technology, has launched its Medtronic Global IT (GIT) Centre in Hyderabad. This marks Medtronic's first major IT capability center outside the United States, situated alongside the Medtronic Engineering and Innovation Centre (MEIC) in the city's Financial District. The inauguration ceremony, attended by IT and industries minister D. Sridhar Babu, underscored Medtronic's commitment to invest $60 million over the next three to five years, generating 300 new jobs.

The GIT Centre will specialize in cutting-edge technologies such as cloud engineering, data platforms, digital health applications, hyper-automation, and AI/ML. Minister Sridhar Babu praised Hyderabad's robust IT workforce and thriving life sciences sector, highlighting Medtronic's confidence in the region's supportive government policies.

US Consul General Jennifer Larson commended Medtronic's investment as a significant contribution by an American company in Telangana, emphasizing the city's dynamic ecosystem and skilled talent pool. Rashmi Kumar, senior vice-president and CIO of Medtronic, reiterated the company's commitment to the Indian market, aiming to enhance healthcare technology and positively impact patient lives through the new IT Centre.

Divya Joshi, vice-president and MEIC site leader at Medtronic, emphasized the GIT Centre's role in bolstering global IT capabilities and fostering innovation with India's rich talent pool. This launch reflects Medtronic's strategic investment in advancing healthcare solutions through state-of-the-art technology.
