Southern Railway closer to loading 41 million ton of goods in FY24
Visakhapatnam Waltair Division in East Coast Railway (ECoaR) is recording a positive growth in various areas during this financial year.
In terms of freight loading, the division achieved its highest ever loading of 5.98 million tonnes (MT) in June, 2023. This surpasses any previous June month’s loading in the past. Additionally, the division earned Rs 700.20 crore in freight earnings during this period, which is also the highest for any June month. The previous record was 5.50 MT with Rs 623.34 crore earnings achieved in June, 2021.
Waltair Division accomplished its best ever iron ore loading rate in June, 2023. The division achieved a loading rate of 14.7 rakes per day.
